This week's passage (Reading 20): Crossing the Red Sea (Exodus 13:17-14:31)
What is E100?
E100 is a challenge to get to grips with the Bible. It is base on carefully selected - 'essential' - passages to help us get the 'big picture' of the God's plan for humanity.
There are 50 Old and 50 New Testament readings, some short, some long. The challenge is to read and consider them all over a period of time. There are no recommended time frames, so you could read one a day, one a week, or even less frequently.
At WBC, we are undertaking the challenge in several ways:
- Members are encouraged to read one passage a week; (this enables you to continue with any other daily Bible reading scheme you follow). There is a blog which features a comment on the week's passage and to which you are encouraged to add your own comments so that we can share our insights.
- Small groups may choose to study some of the passages together.
- Sunday preachers may choose to adopt an E100 passage from which to preach, mainly on the fourth Sunday of each month
- Over the summer of 2012 the E100 readings will be the basis for our sermon themes.
We hope that everyone will make the effort to study these essential Bible passages and gain a deeper understanding of God's purposes. Click on the buttons below to see the WBC E100 blog, or to see a list of all 100 readings.
